Must read

From Ron-Well Jacob, Jos.
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has said that Nigeria must find a quick solution to ongoing massive killings across the nation.
Obasanjo made the pronouncement on Wednesday while on a condolence visit to Governor Simon Lalong at the Government House at the Little Rayfield, Jos.
He said that he was in Jos on behalf of his family and delegation to convey their deep condolences to the government and people of Plateau over the dastardly and heartly killings of over 200 persons.
The Ex-President however charged government at all levels to endeavour to look for the causes of the wanton killings across the country.
“Human problems need human solutions and Nigeria must find a quick solution to massive killings across the country.
.”It is saddening this day and age this kind of barbaric thing is happening in our own country, ‘’ he said.
He said that he had once suggested and pwould say it again that “we must find out root causes of this display of madness by our fellow citizens.’’
According to him, there must be a remote cause or causes and the need for immediate action to deal with it.
He condemned the continued multiplication of condolences upon condolences and called for deliberate action on finding the remote causes and deal with it once and for all.
Obasanjo pleaded with the Federal Government to collaborate with the states, local Governments and even the communities to find lasting solutions to the crises and the wasting of precious lives.
The former president called on all Nigerians to maintain a cohesive society where everyone will be his brother’s keeper.
Responding, Lalong appreciated Obasanjo for making out time to come personally to console the Government and people of Plateau over the “sad crisis that caused us deep sorrow and pain.’’
The Governor said that he was particularly sad with the development because when he came on board, the Beroms and Fulanis signed a pact and made some recommendations on how to stay together.
He promised the former president his administration’s resolve to ensure that a lasting solution is found to rancours and killings on the Plateau.
