How our march to Villa went

Must read

By Florence Ozor and Oby Ezekwesili.
At our march to the State House today having concluded our proceedings, Mr Babafemi Ojudu, special adviser to the president on political affairs brought in word from the Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.
According to him the acting president asked him to convey that work is being done in the background with negotiations, gathering more intelligence and that in no distant time,  the remaining ChibokGirls will be back.  The same assurance was given on the abducted policewomen and the victims of abduction of the NNPC team that went on the oil exploration to the Chad Basin.
He said the #BringBackOurGirls advocacy is playing a key role and that our country needs more of such citizens’ advocacies. He urged our movement to continue in the sacrifice and be reassured that the government is listening to our demands. ‘We hear you loud and clear’, he said.
Mr Ojudu it would be recalled made disparaging and cynical comments against our movement last September during one of our marches. Today, he said  ” the media had quoted him out of context’. He averted that he would at no time  undermine citizens’ advocacy as he believes in their important role in any functional democracy.
Our movement received the message from the acting president in good faith. We shall be watching the actions necessary to make the assurances meaningful in the results we now await specific to the freedom of all our abducted victims especially our ChibokGirls, the police women and the lecturers.
