I often have to fill forms where I am required to fill my country of residence as well as my nationality. They recognise that where one lives does not necessarily mean one’s nationality. This is more true of believers in Jesus Christ. We are IN the world but not OF the world
Our Lord Jesus Christ, made this so clear, “My kingdom is not of this world…” – Jn.18:36. He said this to let His disciples know that following Him involves a paradigm shift from the values of the world.
Apostle Paul, writing to believers in Rome, an elite, cosmopolitan and politically active society, warned them against CONFORMITY. He enjoined them to live TRANSFORMED lives, which is our witness to our generation.
The greatest hindrance to the Gospel in our day is not the many religions and philosophies that oppose it; It is “Christians” whose lives cannot be distinguished from that of those in the world.
We are in the world by address only. This world is neither our home nor our identity.
