Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim emerges candidate of APT as Agbakoba steps down

The touch and go political situation that has characterised politics in the last 96 hours has thrown up Dr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim as the presidential candidate of another party, this time a self-styled mega one, the Alliance for Peoples Trust.
Olisa Agbakoba SAN,  who was an interested party in getting the ticket stepped aside and was reelected as National Chairman of the third force movement.
Another interested party, Lady Funke Awolowo, withdrew from the race and was re-elected as National Treasurer.
The new marriage that threw up Olawepo-Hashim was consummated during the convention held on Saturday, 6th October 2018 at the Oranmiyan Hall of Lagos Airport Hotels, Ikeja, Lagos.
Recall that in a statement last Wednesday, a faction of the faction of the Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN) disclosed that Olawepo-Hashim, emerged the party’s candidate in the scheduled February 16, 2019 presidential election.
Olawepo-Hashim, according to the faction, won the party’s ticket at its national convention and presidential primary election held on the premises of Ibeto Hotel in Abuja with 593 delegates in attendance.
It was gathered that after INEC appeared to have tilted toward the Fela Durotoye, and with a juicier prospect in another alliance, Olawepo-Hashim jumped at it after intense horse-trading
