Politics of survival; Senator John Enoh leaves PDP for APC

Must read

By Tunde Adetunji, Abuja.
The politics of political survival on Tuesday saw Senator John Enoh from Cross River Central Senatorial District ditching the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which has brought him to the National Assembly in the last18 years, to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
He is believed to have made the move as a prelude to the 2019 gubernatorial elections in the State.
“Actually, the heat from the Governor, Ben Ayade, has become unbearable so he had to leave. His departure bears close similarity to the manner in which former Senate Leader, Victor Ndoma-Egba left the PDP for APC,” a knowledgeable source said.
Enoh joins Nelson Effiong (Akwa Ibom South) and Andy Uba (Anambra South).former Plateau State governor, Joshua Dariye (Plateau Central), and Yele Omogunwa (Ondo South) as the sixth PDP Senator to jump ship to APC, since this Senate came on board nearly two years ago.
The seventh, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege (Delta Central) moved from the Labour Party to APC, swelling its rank to 67 to PDP’s 41.
Enoh disclosed that he resigned from the PDP at the ward level, and registered with the APC there.
Senate Deputy Leader, Emmanuel Bwacha (PDP, Taraba South) was optimistic that when the PDP returns to power, the gale of movements will be reversed.
