Authorities of the University of Ilorin, yesterday honoured select alumni of the institution for service, excellence and being worthy ambassadors of the institution.
The honorees included Sir Olusegun Adekunle, OON, Chairman of the FCT Chapter of the university’s alumni association, 1983 graduate of the institution and former Permanent Secretary, General Services in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, (PS-GSO).
The event was chaired by Arc Sonny Echono, PhD, Executive Secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, (TETFUND), who also retired from the federal civil service, as Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Education.
Also honoured at the event were Oba (Dr) Tayo Jacob Haastrup, former Director of Public Affairs at the National Hospital, Abuja, who is the Olumobi of Imobi-Ijesa, Osun State; Dr (Mrs) Shade Arike Ayoade, the Secretary to the Government of Kogi State; Dr Femi Oduneye, Vice-President, Health Services, Shell International, among others.



Director, Technical Services, Nigerian Football Federation, (NFF), who were both honoured at the recent award ceremony for deserving alumni of the University of Ilorin.
