Parradang: Police Clarify Circumstances Surrounding Death of Former Immigration Boss in Abuja Hotel
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has confirmed the death of retired Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, David Shikfu Parradang, in a hotel in the Garki area of Abuja. The police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
According to the police, Mr. Parradang arrived at the hotel on March 3, 2025, at approximately 12:00 PM, accompanied by a female guest who left later that afternoon around 4:00 PM. Concerns for his wellbeing arose when he failed to respond to calls, prompting a military officer, who is a friend of the deceased, to visit the hotel in the early hours of March 4.
At around 4:00 AM, the officer, accompanied by the hotel receptionist, entered Mr. Parradang’s room and found him deceased, seated in a chair. The Durumi Police Station was immediately notified, and officers arrived at the scene to secure the area, take photographs, and collect evidence to preserve the integrity of the crime scene.
The body of the retired Comptroller General has been transferred to the National Hospital for further examination, while hotel staff are cooperating with the ongoing investigation. The police are also making efforts to locate and arrest the female guest who visited him on the day of his death.
The FCT Police Command has urged the public and media outlets to refrain from spreading unverified information, particularly claims of kidnapping, which could incite fear or panic. The Command has assured the public of a thorough investigation to determine the cause of Mr. Parradang’s death and to ensure justice is served.
SP Josephine Adeh, the Police Public Relations Officer for the FCT Command, emphasized the importance of cooperation from the public and media as the investigation progresses. For further inquiries, the public is advised to contact the FCT Police Public Relations Office.
The death of Mr. Parradang, a respected figure in Nigeria’s immigration service, has sparked widespread concern, with many awaiting the outcome of the police investigation to shed light on the tragic incident.
