Hiding under bushels amidst darkness

Must read

OUR WORLD APPEARS TO BE OVERTAKEN BY DARKNESS. It is palpable in every sector of the society, just as the prophets foretold:

“For behold, darkness shall cover the earth… thick darkness the peoples… ” (Isaiah 60:2a)

Amidst this darkness in our world, Jesus calls and commissions us, His Disciples, to be lights.

“You are the light of the world…” (Matthew 5:14)

How come then that with millions of “lights” (believers) in the world, the darkness still pervades?

One reason could be that many “lights” are kept under “bushels” and “baskets” of church buildings and religious ceremonies. They are not visible  on the stands of our daily life.

Another reason could be that *too many Christ followers”  would rather showcase their brand of “light” where other  believers (lights) exist than burn in the dark corners of our world.

The darkness hoovering over our world will only retreat whenever, and wherever, we Christ Disciples ARISE TO SHINE (Isaiah 60:2)
