Buhari, Ezekwesili group may meet in New York

After months of a thawed romance, and the Federal Government’s cold shoulder, the Bring Back Our Girls group members, angry at the continued abduction of 218 Chibok female students of a secondary school, plan to deliver a letter to President Muhammadu Buhari in New York city as he meets with other world leaders for the United Nation’s General Assembly.
Their new strategy after three failed attempts to see Buhari in his official residence in Abuja, following Police blockades, is seen by observers to further reawaken waning interest in the abducted girls by the international community.
The girls were abducted over 880 days by Boko Haram insurgents in the heat of their campaign of violence in April 2014.
Below is a message sent out by the #BBOG to its members yesterday:
“On Tuesday, September 13, 2016, the United Nations General Assembly commences in New York. World leaders, including Nigeria’s President Buhari, will be in New York to discuss various issues plaguing our world, including the global refugee crisis.
“If you are in New York, please join global citizens as we stand in solidarity with 218 #ChibokGirls and thousands more still in Boko Haram captivity on Wednesday, September 14th at 3pm, to deliver a letter to President Buhari to remind him of his campaign promise to #BringBackOurGirls who have now been in captivity for 882 days.
