One-million man Enugu rally: S’east Students throws weight behind Buhari’s reelection bid

Members of the South East Students Union (SESU) have thrown their weight behind President Muhammadu Buhari in his bid for reelection in next year’s general election.
Rising from a zonal meeting at the weekend, the Executive Council of the body said its decision was necessitated by what it described as “the monumental achievements the President has recorded in his three years in office.”
The union  in a press statement which was signed by the National President, Comrade Okechukwu Chigbo, at the weekend listed Buhari’s achievements to include effective war on corruption, taming the menace of insecurity in the country, stabilizing the economy, and the improvement in the lives of ordinary Nigerians.
SESU also listed the home grown feeding programme for pupils in primary schools in the country, diversification of rail transport system in the country, increase of minimum wage for workers and the allowances for NYSC interns.
They listed massive housing schemes through mortgage institutions, constant unity of the country, and the equitable distribution of resources to all regions of the country.
The union, Chigbo stated, has slated Oct 27,2018 for its South East zonal rally in Enugu, so as to officially adopt President Buhari as its preferred candidate for 2019 Presidential election where more than One million delegates are expected to attend.
The two-page statement noted, “Fellow countrymen, we can attest to the fact that previous administration in this country faced a lot of challenges which were inherited by the Buhari-led administration.
“Therefore, we need total restoration of our dear country back to her lost Glory. For us to achieve this we need a leader whose words are his bond, a man who puts character above wealth.
“Nigeria needs a leader who has a strong will and never to lose his individuality in a crowd. The giant of Africa deserves a leader who makes no compromise with wrong.
“We need a man whose ambitions are never confined to any selfish desires, a man that will always be honest in small things and in great things.
“Our great country needs a President who will not say he does something because every other person does it; a man true to his friends in the moments of joy and sorrow as well.
“We need a leader who accommodates Nigerians in prosperity as well as in adversity. We deserve a man that is not ashamed to stand for the truth, even when it is unpopular.
“Our great country needs a man who does not believe that shrewdness, cunning and hard headedness are the best qualities for winning success.
“Nigerians deserves a leader with foresight, a vision, mission and a sense of purpose. We need a builder, a rejuvenator, a facilitator and a man who puts the progress and advancement of our dear country above his personal gains.
“We need a God fearing leader, a shepherd, a man to bring our dreams and aspirations to reality. We desire a leader with a large heart that accommodates all and sundry, including the opposition in governance.
“We care for a leader that sees leadership as service to humanity not a means to acquire wealth.  We need a man with trusted personality.
“We, the Nigerian people are favored by God to have a leader who runs an open door policy and administration. We welcome that Leader who believes in bringing out the best out of people. We need a man with a liberal heart whose philosophy of life is live and let live.
“Our great country needs a man who believes very strongly in creating employment opportunities for the youths, who cares for women emancipation and youth empowerment. A man that believes strongly in the unity and indivisibility of Nigeria.
“We are tired of corrupt leaders. We now need a leader with integrity who will uphold his oath of office, whose personality will always attract ovation from nooks and crannies. We need a humble leader, dearly loved and respected by all.  
“Our great country needs a Commander –in-Chief who will remain in the consciousness of the Nigerian People. We need a man of transparency, honesty and decorum.
“Nigeria needs a leader committed to the overall development of our dear country. Just like a tree deeply rooted in the ground, we deserve a man who holds an unshakable believes that Nigeria will get to the promised land.
“To crown it all, we need a man who is an epitome of sartorial elegance; a motivator, a developer and an icon of a true leader. Our dear country needs a man whose past records have proved him worthy, whose credibility and personality display competence for the tasks ahead. We desire a leader who is innovative and creative.
“We deserve a man who will surely achieve better results to enable him consolidate on the gains achieved in the past three years.”
