True Worship: A matter of the heart, not just lips

Must read

By Sam Kputu
We had just come out a ‘worship extravaganza’, hours of high tempo and roof-blowing singing and stumping – unto the Lord. Then the unexpected happened, one of the guests runs into the car of the ‘worship leader’s as she made  to  pull out of the car park.
Hell was let loose,  the shouts, the curses. All attempts to calm things down were rudely rebuffed. How could people so easily transit from ‘worship’  to war? Was it a mere performance?
Our generation loves worship, But true worship is scarce. True worship is not so much the singing or dancing; It is the surrender of our wills and all to God; honoring Him as Father and Lord [Rom. 12:1; Malachi1:6]
Our God is never desperate. He is EL-SHADDAI, sufficient in Himself and by Himself. Whatever we bring to Him, including our worship, must meet His standard or miss His blessing.
“For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.” – John 4:24 NLT
