To the chagrin of many, and entertainment of others, gun-toting operatives of two security agencies: the Department of State Services (DSS) and National Correctional Service (NCoS) on engaged in a physical squabble over who keeps bailed, suspended Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, in custody.
The DSS operatives were said to have based their action on a fresh Court order for the rearrest of Emefiele, while Correctional (Prisons) officials based theirs on the court order, earlier in the day, that he be kept in the Ikoyi Prison until he perfected his bail.
Justice Nicholas Oweibo had granted him bail in the sum of N20 million and a surety in the same amount over possession of arms and ammunition offences, for which he was brought to court on Tuesday.
