One great disservice we do to ourselves and our calling in Christ is an unhealthy preoccupation with others – where they are at and what they are doing with their lives. It is a dangerous distraction.
Peter had just received a calling and mandate from the Lord to Follow Him and Feed His sheep. Rather than get busy at that, Peter was more concerned with what his colleague, John, was about (John 21:15-24). A trap we often fall into.
The devil operates a 4-D strategy to render our calling in Christ of no effect: Deceive, Discourage, Distract and Destroy. To counter him, we must learn to “…run with endurance the race God has set before us…keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith” (Heb. 12:1-2, NLT)
