Boko Haram releases abducted COCIN pastor; jubilant church members eager to see him Sunday

A pastor with the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) in Jos, Plateau State, has been released from the captivity of Boko Haram.

Jubilant members of the Church d Christ in all Nation’s (COCIN) in Jos, the Plateau State Capital, are anxiously waiting to see the released Reverend Polycarp Zongon in Church on Sunday.

Notorious Boko Haram sect, the Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP) abducted Zongon along the Jos-Gombe road on his way to Adamawa State on October, 19, 2020.

One Sunday Gyang, member of COCIN church described the release of Rev. Zongon as a miracle considering the antecedents of the terrorist group.

Zango, who pastors COCIN Wild Life Park, Jos was said to have arrived Jos on Saturday and is likely to officiate the Sunday service.

The clergyman was released on Friday evening without any official confirmation whether a ransom was paid or not.
