Jenifa, husband await sentencing over party that breached COVID-19 law

Must read

Love-birds, AbdulRasheed Bello and actress wife, Funke ‘Jenifa’ Akindele, are awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty at a Lagos Island Magistrate Court for breaching the social distancing law of the Lagos State Government.
They were charged to court shortly after AbdulRasheed showed up at the Police station on Panti Street. His wife is believed to have spent the night there.
The duo may pay a N100,000 fine or spend one month in jail as prescribed under the new law
Mrs. Akindele, who plays Jenifa in popular television programme, Jenifa’s Diary, was arrested on Sunday by the Police for flouting social distancing rules at a party she and her husband organised, which has caused quite a stir on social media.
She was arrested at their Amen Estate residence in Ibeju-Lekki in Lagos State.
Mrs. Akindele was full of apologies for her action, which has drawn the ire of many who see her action as a naked case of hypocrisy, being an ambassador and advert model of the Nigeria Centre for Disease (NCDC).
