Finance Ministry pulls embarrassing Twitter post begging South African billionaire for ventilators

After a viral post from the Federal Ministry of Finance, Budget, and National Planning begging South African billionaire, Elon Musk, for ventilators to tackle COVID-19; and drew the ire of Nigerians on social media, the ministry pulled down the post.

According to Mr. Yunusa Tanko Abdullahi, the Special Adviser, Media and Communications to the Honourable Minister of Finance Budget and National Planning, the post was pulled because it was unauthorised.
His words: “An unauthorised post was made on the verified Twitter handle of the Federal Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning.
“The fact of the post is regrettable because of which it is brought down.
“We have made sure our internal processes are strengthened that such doesn’t happen again.
“The error is highly regrettable.”
