Hmmm…Oshiomhole says no rift with Obaseki, says ‘he is my brother’

Must read

National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, has told a rib-cracking tale that he has no beef with his successor, Governor Godwin Obaseki. He went a step further to say his former protege is his brother.

Obaseki, curiously, agrees with him; while their followers battle in the political trenches. Their battle has left the State House of Assembly in disarray, and the courts putting the brakes on plans by the National Assembly to take over the functions of the Edo House.

Like always, the party chairman who is fighting other battles in the ruling party, heaped the blame for the rift on the media and others.

As far as Oshiomhole is concerned, the alleged rift, which has torn the APC in Edo State, into two, is the creation of people with personal interest, describing Obaseki as his brother.

On Monday night, at his palatial Iyamoh residence in Estako West Local Government Government Area told
journalists: “from time to time, we have always been meeting. It is not an unusual visit, the meeting afforded me the opportunity to meet with my brother and with people I have worked with.”

Obaseki, on his part, said that the visit to his former boss was not unusual, saying that he decided to celebrate Sallah with the party chief..

“There is nothing unusual about this meeting; today is Sallah and we have just finished celebrating with the former APC national chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun in Benin City, and we decided to come here to celebrate Sallah with my predecessor,” the governor said.

He said the visit was to celebrate Edo leaders just as the former APC national chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, was celebrated by the state earlier in the day.
