Who teaches you prayer?

Must read

By Sam Kputu

Every disciple has a master who teaches him or her prayer. Where did you learn your prayer motivation, language and style?

• The WHEN. The Bible teaches prayer as a lifestyle, not an activity (1Thes.5:17; Lk.18:1)

• The HOW. Prayer is not an after dinner speech or a mindless incantation; neither is it some panic button to push when in danger. It is more like a father and child dialogue. Or two intimate friends shamelessly pouring out their hearts to each other. (Mt. 6:5-6; 1Sam.1:15)

• The WHY. Prayer is not some folk or spoon to pick goodies and blessings from heaven’s table; it is God’s divine instrument to build His kingdom on earth. He is sovereign but has chosen to work or act in response to the prayers of His people. (Ezek.22:30; Mt.9:36-38)

Every body prays, but not every prayer is heard or answered by God. For our prayers to receive the attention of Heaven, they must be in accordance with God’s WORD and God’s WILL. (1Jn.5:14-15)
