Police silent, SOKAPU confirms killings, abduction of students

The Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU) has confirmed that students in a final class (Junior Secondary class – JSS 3) of a secondary school, Prince Academy, have been abducted.

When Everyday.ng forwarded a viral social media message to SOKAPU’s spokesman, Mr. Luka Binniyat, he confirmedthe incident, and said the union was compiling the list of those involved.

The message reads, “This morning 24th August, 2020 at about 7: 45 – 8:30 AM, Fulani invaded Damba-Kasaya community of Kunai Ward, Chikun LGA Kaduna State.

“Mr Benjamin Auta a family man was killed, the church (Aminchi Baptist Church Damba) was set on fire, JSS 3 students of Prince Academy were abducted along side other villagers (numbers of those abducted not yet ascertained).

“Motorcycles taken. The Military who ware trailing the Fulani Terrorist alongside the villagers withdrew (for reasons not yet known), leaving the members of the community to their fate.”

An official confirmation of the incident was still being expected from the Police.
