NECO, others hold exams between Aug. 17 and Nov. 18

The Federal Government has announced that national examinations for exit classes of primary, basic, and secondary schools will be conducted between August 17 and November 18.
The examinations are the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations (SSCE) of the National Examination Council (NECO); the National Business and Technical Examination Board (NABTEB) examinations for SS3 students; and the National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies (NBAIS) examinations.

There are also the Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE) for JSS 3 students, and the National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) for applicants from primary school applicants into Unity Colleges.
But these examinations will be preceded by the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).
According to a statement from the Federal Ministry of Education, NABTEB examinations are scheduled to start on September 21, NECO’s on October 5, and the NCEE is scheduled for October 17.
The National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies (NBAIS) examination starts September 23.
The lMinister of State for Education, Hon. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, disclosed that the dates were picked after meetings among stateholders, advising the exam bodies to release their timetables in the next seven days.
