Adakole Ijogi has been declared the winner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primary election for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Senatorial seat, securing the party’s ticket for the 2027 general elections.
The primary was conducted on Saturday, May 28, 2026, across all 62 wards of the FCT.
The chairperson of the PDP Electoral Panel, Barrister Mrs. Emem Essien Udoh, officially declared the results at the party’s collation center in Abuja.
According to Barrister Mrs. Udoh, Ijogi polled the highest number of delegate votes in a process she described as transparent, peaceful, and in full compliance with the party’s
electoral guidelines, noting that voting took place simultaneously across the 62 wards, with party agents and observers present to ensure credibility.
“Having satisfied the requirements of the law and our party’s constitution, Adakole Ijogi is hereby declared the winner of the PDP FCT Senatorial primary election,” said Barrister Mrs. Emem Essien Udoh.
In his acceptance remarks, Ijogi thanked the electoral panel, the delegates, and his supporters.
“This victory is a call to greater service. I am grateful to Barrister Mrs. Emem Essien Udoh and her team for conducting a fair election across all 62 wards of the FCT, and to every delegate who entrusted me with this mandate. Together, we will win the 2027 general election and bring quality representation to the FCT.”
