Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has announced the release of 38 individuals abducted during the recent attack on Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Eruku, in Ekiti Local Government Area of the state.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the governor commended President Bola Tinubu for what he described as a decisive, hands-on intervention that led to the safe recovery of the victims earlier today, November 23. According to the governor, the President personally coordinated federal efforts aimed at resolving the incident.

Governor AbdulRazaq noted that President Tinubu had cancelled his scheduled trip to the G20 meeting in South Africa to focus on security breaches in both Kwara and Kebbi States. He added that the President also ordered increased security deployments to affected areas, signaling what he called a firm commitment to public safety nationwide.

The governor extended his appreciation to the Office of the National Security Adviser, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigerian Army, the Nigeria Intelligence Agency, and the Nigeria Police Force—which, in line with presidential directives, deployed four new tactical teams to Kwara State.

He also thanked security personnel, community leaders, religious institutions, and residents of the state for their support throughout the ordeal.

The statement was signed by Rafiu Ajakaye, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, on November 23, 2025.
