#FearlessInOctober protesters in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, have been attacked. At the protest ground in front of the Federal Secretariat along Aba Road in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, cane-wielding thugs insisted they did not want any protest in the oil-rich state, even threatening media men with violence, if they filmed them.
In Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) protesters were attacked by security operatives, human rights lawyer, Deji Adeyanju is saying on social media as a trending video confirmed.
“The unprovoked attack against peaceful protesters in Abuja is an assault on our constitutional democracy,” Adeyanju said on X (formerly Twitter).
“…it’s so sad to see how peaceful protesters were attacked in Abuja”.
