The Office of the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, has vehemently denied that he was involved in a car accident along the Airport road in Abuja on Monday.
In fact, he has arrived Ondo State where he went to deliver a condolence message from President Muhammadu Buhari, over the killings in a Catholic church in Owo on Sunday.
An online newspaper had promoted a story that Osinbajo was in an accident and efforts were on to pull him out of a car that somersaulted.
In a series of social media posts, his spokesman, Mr. Laolu Akande said:
“On his way to the airport this morning, VP came across a road traffic accident, stopped to lend assistance, & ensured victim was taken to the hospital with VP’s convoy ambulance. He then proceeded on his trip and is now in Ondo State heading to site of yesterday’s attack in Owo.
“VP’S security and medical teams assisted in removing the victim from the crushed vehicle resulting from a somersault. And transported patient to Airforce base hospital. It was a solo accident. The car had summersalted on the opposite lane and was impaled on a tree.”
