There is panic within the University of Abuja staff quarters in Giri, after suspected bandits, allegedly this Tuesday morning breached the security of the walled quarters, abducting four staff and others including children.
Giri town is about six kilometers (kms) from the Muhammadu Buhari Military Cantonment, about 25 kms from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, and 45 kms from the Federal Capital City centre.
A source in the school told Everyday.ng on Tuesday morning that though he does not stay in the staff quarters, “it is a traumatic experience for us all.”
“They went away with our staff and their children,” he confirmed.
The details of exactly what transpired are still foggy, but a post on one of the school’s social media page gave an indication of what happened.
