We have seen that, though Prophets and Prophecies are of God, they can be faked and abused to the detriment of undiscerning and unsuspecting victims. We must learn to test and judge prophecies.
We had looked at The Spirit Test as well as The Jesus Test in examining prophecies. Today we will look at the “P3” check
¶ PRECEDENCE: what has been the impact of the prophet and his/her prophecy on your life, or that of others, in the past? If in doubt, ask.
¶ PRESSURE: is there any subtle pressure or manipulation on you to submit to the prophet or prophecy? For just as it does not lie with judges to enforce their judicial pronouncements, it is never the job of prophets to enforce their prophecies.
¶ PERSONAL CONVICTION: Finally, gauge your level of personal conviction. The role of prophets and prophecies is to validate God’s word or impression to you, not overide it.
