Note from India…Indians, Nigerians at fault

Good morning, my brother. We are fine, by God’s grace.
Now, regarding the recent assault on Nigerians in India, the truth of the matter is that this problem has been on for sometime. It affects Nigerians mostly but also other Africans to an extent.
In this particular case, an Indian boy was declared missing only to be found in a semi-conscious state the next day. He was taken to the hospital but later died and someone told the family of the boy that he was with some Nigerians who gave him an overdose of drugs which must have led to his death.
The police arrested some Nigerians and later released them for lack of evidence. This sparked a protest against police at first and later against the Nigerians in that locality which resulted in the beating of the Nigerians and other Africans.
The locals requested that the Nigerians living in the community be expelled completely. The government has waded into the matter and the foreign affairs minister of India has assured Africans of their safety.
As far as I am concerned,  both Indians and Nigerians are to be blamed for this incessant crisis. Nigerians and Africans on one hand because many of our people do behave badly in this country. Some are involved in drug deals, rape, and 419. No sensitivity or respect for the people’s culture. Drinking of alcohol publicly in gated communities, loud parties and indecent dressing and even prostitution, etc.
Many Indians don’t like these behaviours at all though they have their own vices too. We, as Africans, need to repent and as believers, we have been taking up this identification repentance. On the part of the Indians, they discriminate based on one’s complexion, some call Africans derogatory names. Of course some of them collude with Africans to do other evils too and many are illiterate and not enlightened.
They’ve not seen people who are different from them before. So, some Indian Christians have also repented on behalf of their community for the atrocities committed against Africans. We need more of such prayers of reconciliation all around the country. Other Indians have criticised discrimination against Africans as well. There should be more awareness and enlightenment for some Indians regarding accepting foreigners while Africans also need to learn to respect the culture of the people.
The state of Uttar Pradesh where the incidence happened is the biggest state in India and most of the people are illiterate. The crime rate is high in the state as well.
The particular district where the recent crisis occurred is within the National Capital Region NCR.
