Must read

The Citizens Advocacy for Social and Economic Rights (CASER) is celebrating the life and times of the legendary Charles Colson, lawyer, former Presidential Aide to Richard Nixon and Christian activist, its Executive Director, Barrister Frank Tietie, has said in a statement in Abuja.

According to him, Colson lived with the greatest turn-around in life when he got “born again” after reading C.S. Lewis’ “Mere Christianity” and, went to prison in 1974 for owning up to obstructing justice. He is later known for his sterling advocacy for prison reforms as founder of Prison Fellowship (PF).
PF is devoted to supporting prisoners and their families. Colson received several honours and awards including the Templeton Prize, Presidential Medal from President George W. Bush and 15 honorary PhD degrees.
“CASER shall advocate for the enforcement of prisoners’ rights which include right to decent conditions of incarceration that are reformative rather than dehumanizing,” Tietie said.
