From Musa Solomon  Yola.
In a queer twist, a Muslim Adamawa Stae Governor, Alhaji Jibrilla Bindow,  virtually flagged-off his campaign during the 70th convention of Church of the Brethren in Nigeria in Kwarhi in Hong local government Thursday.
Many have interpreted the latest political move as a ploy to win the votes of the huge Christian population, and not out of conviction or true repentance.
While speaking at the occasion Bindow said that he was voted as a Senator by the people, and after that, he was voted as governor, declaring that the people will still vote him in 2019.
” You people voted me as a senator, governor and you will still vote in 2019 to enable me continue with my people oriented projects for the benefits of the electorate,” he said.
Bindow who expressed confidence to win the 2019 governorships poll claimed that his projects will speak volumes of his commitment to tackle poverty and improve the living conditions of the people of the state.
The governor who was punctuating his speech with “Praise the Lord” inside the church where he devoted 80 percent of his speech to praising his government, said that his administration will remain in the minds of Adamawa people for decades after his exit in 2023.
” My government is for the masses, they voted me as governor and I will continue to work for them, all my projects are designed to improve the living standards of our people especially the rural dwellers,” he stated.
He urged the church leaders to pray for the unity of the country and good leadership for democracy to thrive in Nigeria.
