By Shitile Mbayanso, Abuja.

Prior to jetting out of the country, President Muhammadu Buhari went into a private meeting with his deputy, Professor Yemi Osinbajo (SAN), where he is believed to have left him a clear mandate on what he expected of him.

Shortly after, the Chairman of the National Assembly and President of the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki; the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara; and Chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF) and Governor of Zamfara State, Alhaji AbdulAziz Yari, were invited in for a last pep talk before the President proceeded to the airport and jetted out of the country last night.

No one had an inkling of what Buhari and Osinbajo discussed, and the details of his discussion with the quartet.

Presidential aides were not available for comments, Monday, but everyday.ng learnt that the final decision to send the President abroad after weeks of dilly-dallying followed the examination conducted by a British doctor flown in to resolve an impasse between the President’s personal physician and a Pakistani doctor, simply identified as Gupta.

While the president’s doctor wanted him flown abroad for further analysis and treatment, the Pakistani thought he was strong enough and merely needed rest and time to regain appreciable verve for full presidential duties.

But with the arrival of the British doctor, the equation changed as he advised that Buhari be flown out for further medical attention, a source said.
