Amongst others, the Sheikh, who spoke in Hausa, said, “Show the infidels their limits. Nigeria is a Muslim country and if you don’t want to accept a Muslim-Muslim ticket, you should leave Nigeria because it belongs to us.” He also said, “If not because of the Muslim-Muslim ticket, the Christians in Nigeria will think they are more than us. This is why we must make sure the Muslim-Muslim ticket continues to succeed so that our dominance will remain sustained … Here, I urge you to prepare your votes. Let us show the world that the infidels are lying that they outnumber us.” As he spoke, the Kano State governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, laughed, in apparent endorsement of the Sheikh.

Expectedly, the speech has caused an uproar in the country as many have condemned it. In the aftermath of that event, Sheikh Jingir gave an interview to the BBC and reaffirmed his position. He refused to apologize for his statements. Of course, there was no need to apologize, having received the full endorsement of the Kano State governor.

That Sheik Jingir made those contentious statements was not a surprise to many observers of the Muslim North. What is amazing is that many Christians reacted to it as if it were new. That stresses our text from Isaiah 42:18-20, about the paradox of blind, dumb, and deaf messengers of God.

it reads: Hear, ye deaf; and look, ye blind, that ye may see. Who is blind, but my servant? or deaf, as my messenger that I sent? who is blind as he that is perfect, and blind as the Lord’s servant? Seeing many things, but thou observest not; opening the ears, but he heareth not (Isaiah 42:18-20).

It would appear that many Christians, especially their leaders, having been warned multiple times of the Islamic agenda, either do not understand what they are hearing or do not believe that it is true. In effect, they have seen _“many things”_ but do not _“observe”._ That explains the readiness with which prominent Christian leaders endorsed the Muslim-Muslim ticket in 2023 and waived off protests. Now, Sheikh Jingir has unveiled the masquerade in the market. What will Church leaders do now? They and their ministries have been given a quit notice from Nigeria. Sheikh Jingir did not mince words, “… if you don’t want to accept a Muslim-Muslim ticket, you should leave Nigeria because it belongs to us.” That man, a descendant of immigrants, is the one telling the owners of the land to vacate their land for him, because he considers his religion superior to theirs. His speech was not only religious extremism; it was an open insult to and total disregard of host communities in Nigeria.

It should be clarified that what is going on is not merely religious fanaticism but a deliberate manipulation of religion for ethnic and political domination. It was through such manipulation of religion that the Fulanis, through subterfuge, took over Hausaland and have subjected the Hausas for over two hundred years. What is going on is Islamism, a political ideology which teaches that wherever Islam gets, it must dominate. While Islam is a religion, Islamism is a political ideology of the global Islamic Brotherhood, which is pushing for world domination through its attempt to impose Sharia on all countries. They have succeeded in twelve states in northern Nigeria and are determined to replace the Common Law in Nigeria with the Sharia.

Like some naïve Church leaders, there are justices in the judiciary who are helping them to manipulate elections, not realizing that the judiciary is also targeted for elimination (Ref. Abuja Declarations 1989). Both Church leaders and the justices, as well as compromised legal practitioners in Nigeria, are giving oxygen to a monster determined to consume them. That is why the Governor of Kano State cheered at the provocations of Sheikh Jingir. It was not merely a religious statement; it was the celebration of political victory for the ideology of the Fulanis. In the nine Hausa states in northern Nigeria, eight have Fulanis as governors. They want it replicated all over Nigeria. Sharia is their Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV).

The attempt of the Fulani North, to use Islam to dominate Nigeria, did not start today. In 1942, the West African Students Union wrote to some Emirs in northern Nigeria, soliciting support for independence from colonial rule. The Emirs responded that “holding this country together is not possible except by means of the religion of the Prophet. If they want political unity let them follow our religion.”

In an interview granted to _Quality Magazine_ in October 1987, Sheikh Abubakar Mohammad Gumi (pp. 34 – 39) said, concerning his political philosophy: “the two-party system of government will not be South against North but Islam against Christianity. Once you are a Moslem, you cannot accept to choose a non-Moslem to be your leader.”

The Fulanis are smart. They disguise politics as religion to obtain the buy-in of the indigenous ethnic nationalities into their conspiracy. Those nationalities think that they are serving God, whereas they are willingly putting themselves under servitude to the Fulanis. That was how they captured Hausaland.

Political Islam was imported into Nigeria by the Fulanis to subjugate the indigenous ethnic nationalities. That is why Sheik Jingir spoke and the governor cheered. Both are Fulanis. Gumi is also Fulani.

Gumi went on: “If Christians do not accept Moslems as their leader, then we have to divide the country … Nigerian unity is to convert Christians and non-Moslems (to Islam) until the other religions become minority and they will not affect our society.” For the “other religions to become minority”, two things would happen. Some of them would die, and some would leave the country. Both are already happening. The indigenes of the land are becoming the minority.

The statement of Sheikh Jingir should be considered an executive summary of “Abuja Declarations 1989” of the Islam in Africa Organisation (IAO). Once the Muslim-Muslim ticket is entrenched, other replacement policies will follow. To refresh the memory of Christians, some salient portions of that Declaration are presented below. The issues have been in the public domain for a long time, yet some Christians keep making excuses for the Islamists.

• “To eradicate in all its forms and ramifications all non-Muslim religions in member nations (such religions shall include Christianity…)
• “To ensure only Muslims are elected to all political posts of member nations“.
• “To ensure the appointment of only Muslims into strategic national and international posts of member nations.“
• “To ensure the ultimate replacement of all western forms of legal and judicial systems with the Sharia …

The conference that produced this communique was organized by Islam in Africa Organization (IAO). It held in Abuja in November 1989 under the administration of General Babangida. The communique included a portion that thanked the government of Nigeria in 1989 for the donation of $21 billion to the Islamic Development Fund for the Islamization of Africa in general and Nigeria in particular.

President Tinubu signed-in on the Muslim-Muslim ticket so that he could use the political machinery of the Islamists to get into power and secure a second term in office, regardless of the consequence to his kinsmen thereafter. It is a morbid political ambition, placing the self above the collective interest of the people. It replicates the African tribal chiefs who sold their people into slavery for pieces of cloths and bottles of gin.

What will the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) do now, because they publicly endorsed the Muslim-Muslim ticket? Their ill-advised letters of congratulation to the Muslim-Muslim candidates in 2023 are an open testament in the public domain. The monster they nurtured is fully grown. This is where the rubber meets the road.

Now that Sheikh Jingir has unmasked the goal of the Muslim-Muslim ticket, what are Christians going to do about it? What will Church leaders do? How will this affect their preparation for the 2027 elections? Many prominent Christians are supporters of Tinubu and Shettima. Will this make any difference to their position? Will Christian leaders and Christian elites who hold brief for the Muslim-Muslim ticket continue to do so after the quit notice from Sheikh Jingir?

As Nigeria prepares for another election, this is the reality before Christians, and indeed, before the entire indigenous ethnic nationalities in Nigeria. There are many of Christian leaders and elites who are deeply committed to the Muslim-Muslim ticket. They hear the warning, but it conflicts with their personal interests, so they use their position and influence to ignore it.

Now is the time for Church leaders to build bridges, within and outside the Church. Christian unity must be strengthened, and there should be deliberate reaching out to the Hausa people. It has finally dawned even on Hausa Muslims that the Islamic model promoted by the Fulanis is aimed at the subjugation and annihilation of the indigenous ethnic nationalities in Nigeria. Consequently, even Hausa Muslims have begun to openly distance themselves from the Fulanis. This is the time for Christian leaders to demonstrate spiritual maturity and begin to mend the cracks within the Church, so that Christians can drive a unified agenda to restore balance and sanity to the polity. A house that is divided cannot stand, particularly against an international coalition of the Islamic Brotherhood that is determined to implement Sharia in Nigeria. May their conspiracy never succeed. God bless Nigeria.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Ps. 124 Thank God for protecting Nigeria from malevolent forces intent on enslaving the people.

2. Ps. 24:1-2 Proclaim God as the owner of Nigeria and all the people in it.

4. Isaiah 8:9-10 Dismantle every evil intent behind the Muslim-Muslim ticket and bind every force of darkness that is driving it.

5.
