A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State; Alhaji Kunle Suleiman, has warned the National body of the party against accepting the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, back into the party.<\/div>\n

Fielding questions from newsmen, Suleiman, a founding Chairman of PDP in Kwara State, said as long as the party intends to win votes in the state, such dream would be automatically dashed the moment Saraki is associated with the party saying people have resolved not to go the way of Saraki again.<\/div>\n

Also, the PDP chief said it is erroneous to regard any group of politicians as new PDP (nPDP) pointing out that since a splinter group led by Saraki and others left the party four years ago to form the All Progressives Congress (APC), it amounts to a fraud to carry the toga of PDP again.<\/div>\n

His words: \u201cFor now, there is no new PDP nor old PDP. Those who claimed to be nPDP particularly in Kwara State came from APP to the PDP and we were happy that they came but they came to destroy what the party stands and after that left in the guise of new PDP to join APC.<\/div>\n

\u201cTheir stock in trade is to hijack other party and use for their selfish interests alone, destroy it and dump the party for another. They destroyed PDP, went to APC, I think they must have satisfied themselves with the party (APC) and now looking for where next to go.<\/div>\n

\u201cPresently, (he) is a bad product in Kwara electioneering. People will not vote any party he goes to in Kwara State. I trust the national body of PDP that they will not accept him except we do not intend to win elections in the state\u201d, he added.<\/div>\n

Commenting on Saraki\u2019s alleged link to the bloody Offa robbery and cultists attacks in the past in Kwara State, Alhaji Suleiman, who is a lawyer, said though he is sure that the Senate President would have nothing to do with bank robbery but his closeness to them (robbers) leaves much to \u00a0be desired.<\/div>\n

The PDP chief said; \u201cIn a more civilized and proper society, he ought to have resigned his position and go to clear his name. In another clime, where they have the real Senate of the people, they would have removed him.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Nigerian Senate is ridiculing itself by having him as their leader. It is shocking that they are turning a clear criminal case to a political persecution using the hallowed chamber of the Senate to do that\u201d.<\/p>\n

Also speaking on the confessions of the arrested cultists who alleged that they worked for the Senate President Barrister Suleiman said the law should take its course warning that the robbery attack saga should not be used to push the cultists story aside.<\/p>\n

He said; \u201cthe cultists had confessed that they were given assignment by the … and the state government to kill. We have been talking about insecurity in the country, yet we have people in the hallowed chamber of the Senate sponsoring thugs to kill.<\/p>\n

\u201cUntil we have a government that will say the truth and let those who are on the other side of the law be brought to book, our safety as citizens can never be guaranteed. The Senate cannot (stop) the police from doing its work.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is very sad that somebody as high as (that) is being fingered in such a crime. Anybody in the opposition in Kwara State and does not see the dangers ahead is a fool going by the list the cultists were allegedly given to kill by their big sponsors.<\/p>\n
