Nigeria\u2019s Vice President, Kashim Shettima, has strongly condemned the recent terrorist bombings in Borno State that claimed at least 25 lives, describing the attackers as \u201ccowardly enemies of humanity\u201d and vowing that justice will be served.<\/span><\/p>\n

In his remarks at the mosque inside the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Vice President Kashim Shettima invoked divine justice against those responsible for the Borno attack.<\/span><\/p>\n

He was quoted as saying: \u201cMay Almighty Allah expose them, disgrace them, and bring upon them the punishment they deserve.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

He further stressed that beyond military efforts, there is a higher moral reckoning awaiting the perpetrators:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cNo matter how long it takes, the wrath of God will surely catch up with those who shed innocent blood.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The attacks, which struck parts of Maiduguri, targeted crowded civilian areas, leaving dozens injured and communities in mourning. Security agencies suspect the involvement of insurgent groups linked to the prolonged conflict in Nigeria\u2019s North-East.<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking during prayers at the mosque inside the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, the Vice President expressed deep anger and grief over the killings, offering prayers for the victims and their families.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThese are not human beings in the true sense of it. Anyone who targets innocent men, women and children is worse than a beast,\u201d Shettima said.<\/span><\/p>\n

He stressed that such acts of terror would not break the spirit of the nation, adding: \u201cWe will not bow to fear. Nigeria will stand firm, and those behind these atrocities will meet their end sooner than they think.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Reflecting on his long association with Borno State as a former governor, Shettima spoke emotionally about the resilience of its people: \u201cThe people of Borno have endured so much, yet they remain unbroken. This latest attack is painful, but it will not define us.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

He also used the moment at the Villa mosque to call for unity and vigilance among citizens:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a time for unity and prayers, but also for vigilance. We must support our security forces and look out for one another.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been briefed on the situation and has directed security agencies to intensify operations in the region, with additional deployments already underway.<\/span><\/p>\n

Residents in Maiduguri described scenes of chaos following the explosions, which occurred during a busy period when many were concluding daily Ramadan activities.<\/span><\/p>\n

The latest attack highlights the lingering threat of insurgency in Nigeria\u2019s North-East, despite years of military operations aimed at restoring peace.<\/span><\/p>\n

Closing his remarks, Shettima reaffirmed the government\u2019s determination:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cNigeria will never surrender to terror. We owe it to the victims, and we owe it to future generations.\u201d<\/span>
