Operatives of the Department of State Services have rescued a five-year-old boy who was abducted in Kano State, following a targeted operation in Danzaki Village, Minjibir Local Government Area.<\/p>\n
The victim, identified as Muhammad Haruna, was reportedly kidnapped by suspected abductors who demanded a ransom of N15 million from his family.<\/p>\n
Security sources disclosed that the rescue operation was carried out at about 7:40 p.m. on February 12, 2026, after authorities received a formal complaint that the child had been taken to an unknown destination.<\/p>\n
Acting on intelligence, a tactical team of the Department of State Services tracked the suspects to Danzaki Village, where they executed a coordinated operation that led to the safe recovery of the child.<\/p>\n
During the operation, a 20-year-old suspect, Aminu Mukhtar, was arrested while allegedly negotiating ransom payment with the victim\u2019s father via a mobile phone line.<\/p>\n
Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect admitted to abducting the child with the intention of collecting ransom, according to security sources.<\/p>\n
The suspect remains in custody as further investigations continue.<\/p>\n
