B. Yusuf of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court, Abuja, over alleged misappropriation of \u20a660 million.<\/p>\n<p>The duo were brought before the court by the EFCC\u2019s Abuja Zonal Directorate on a two-count charge bordering on criminal conspiracy and misappropriation of funds allocated to the Corps in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>According to the charge sheet, Akoh and Ahmed allegedly conspired to commit criminal misappropriation, an offence said to be punishable under Section 96 of the Penal Code Laws of the FCT. The second count accuses the defendants of dishonestly converting \u20a646 million out of \u20a660 million meant for a contract for the supply of badges for the Corps.<\/p>\n<p>Both defendants pleaded not guilty when the charges were read to them.<\/p>\n<p>Following their pleas, EFCC prosecution counsel, Khalid Sanusi, requested a date for the commencement of trial.<\/p>\n<p>Justice Yusuf subsequently adjourned the matter to February 25, 2026, for trial and granted both defendants bail in the sum of \u20a65 million each, with one surety apiece.
