Malami personally confirmed the development on Friday in a statement posted on his official Facebook page, noting that he intends to fully cooperate with the anti-graft agency.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is to confirm that I have been invited by the EFCC. As a law-abiding and patriotic citizen, I hereby reaffirm my commitment to honour the invitation,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n
He stated that his decision to publicly acknowledge the invitation stems from his commitment to transparency, accountability, and the values he advocated while in public office.<\/p>\n
\u201cI understand the spirit of accountability and transparency in public service \u2014 the principles that I both advocate and champion,\u201d he said, adding that he would keep Nigerians informed as events unfold.<\/p>\n
Malami also appealed to his family, friends, and the general public to remain calm, reiterating that he is ready to clarify any issues raised by investigators.<\/p>\n
\u201cI believe in the importance of honesty, integrity and accountability in leadership \u2014 principles I\u2019ve long supported throughout my years in public service,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
