In a dramatic twist in Abuja, a magistrate court sitting in Kuje has ordered the remand of Prince Emmanuel Kanu \u2014 younger brother to detained IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu \u2014 along with his legal firepower, Barrister Aloy Ejimakor, in Kuje Prison.<\/p>\n
Their crime? Participating in the #FreeNnamdiKanuNow protest that rocked the capital on Monday.<\/p>\n
The explosive update was dropped on X (formerly Twitter) by Kanuta Kanu, another of Nnamdi Kanu\u2019s siblings, shortly after the court proceedings wrapped on Tuesday. And he didn\u2019t hold back.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe magistrate sitting in Kuje remanded Barrister Aloy Ejimakor, the lead counsel in Mazi Nnamdi Kanu\u2019s case, and Prince Emmanuel Kanu, his youngest brother. This is a conspiracy \u2014 executive, legislature, judiciary \u2014 all working to frustrate Kanu\u2019s trial on Thursday,\u201d Kanuta posted.<\/p>\n
Earlier, the Nigerian Police had arraigned Ejimakor, Prince Emmanuel, and 10 others, slamming them with charges ranging from inciting public disturbance to blocking traffic and disrupting peace \u2014 all allegedly committed while chanting war songs and demanding Nnamdi Kanu\u2019s release.<\/p>\n
The court charge sheet was made public by none other than Prof. Chidi Odinkalu, former chairman of the Human Rights Commission, also via X \u2014 turning what many thought was just a protest into a full-blown national talking point.<\/p>\n
