The Federal Government has reduced the cost of kidney dialysis in federal tertiary hospitals from N50,000 to N12,000 per session, affirming that the North-West region is fully included in the subsidy programme.<\/p>\n
In a statement, the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare said the initiative aims to save lives, reduce financial strain on vulnerable Nigerians, and advance universal health coverage under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.<\/p>\n
Implementation has already begun in 11 federal tertiary hospitals across the country, with plans for further expansion. The facilities currently offering subsidised dialysis include:<\/p>\n

The ministry, through a statement signed by Deputy Director and Head of Information & Public Relations, Alaba Balogun, reiterated that the subsidy applies nationwide, ensuring equitable access to dialysis treatment for all Nigerians.<\/p>\n
