He explained that credible intelligence reports** indicated potential plans by miscreants to exploit the event for disruptive activities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn consultation with the Kano State Government and key stakeholders, the Command has decided to prohibit all Durbar activities across the state,\u201d Bakori stated.<\/p>\n<p>While the Durbar has been suspended, Bakori assured that Eid prayers at designated venues will proceed under tight security. He urged worshippers to adhere to safety guidelines, including avoiding suspicious objects and refraining from horse riding, car racing, and reckless driving.<\/p>\n<p>Parents and guardians have also been advised to monitor their children and prevent them from being used by troublemakers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin-right: auto; margin-left: auto; overflow-wrap: break-word; font-family: 'Source Sans Pro'; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.6 !important;\">Both Bayero and\u00a0 fellow contender to the throne,\u00a0 Emir Sanusi\u00a0 indicated their intention to hold parallel traditional Sallah durbar.<\/p>\n<p>The<mark class=\"QVRyCf\"> cultural, and religious celebration marks the Hausa and Fulani peoples&#8217; rich heritage and traditions, on display during Muslim festivities and special occasions was intended by both parties as a show of power and popularity. <\/mark><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"pjBG2e\" data-cid=\"0baac5b0-0f17-4ce8-bcc4-35f5d4f34764\"><span class=\"UV3uM\">Fears had been expressed by residents that two contending durbar could lead to a bloody clash, which could spiral out of control. Security forces have been put on alert and it is generally believed they may have weighed in to stop one of the planned durbar.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"pjBG2e\" data-cid=\"0baac5b0-0f17-4ce8-bcc4-35f5d4f34764\"><span class=\"UV3uM\">But i<\/span><\/span>n a broadcast on Wednesday night, Bayero said he shelved the plan in order to avoid breakdown of law and order in the state.<\/p>\n<p style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin-right: auto; margin-left: auto; overflow-wrap: break-word; font-family: 'Source Sans Pro'; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.6 !important;\">&#8220;This decision follows advice by our respected religious leaders. We have special regards for them.
