President Bola Tinubu has sacked Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State after a second explosion on oil facilities hit the state.<\/span><\/p>\n

He declared a state of emergency in Rivers State and suspended Governor Simi Fubara and his deputy for six months.<\/span><\/p>\n

In a nationwide broadcast this evening he faulted the governor for failing to contain the crisis in the state, blaming him for failing to comply with the Supreme Court judgment.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was no longer a coincidence as another explosion has rocked an oil facility in Ogba\/Egbema\/Ndoni Local Government Area of\u00a0Rivers State.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It comes as two arrests were made in connection with an explosion on the Trans-Niger pipeline late last night.<\/span><\/p>\n

The new blast, at a Manifold Connecting federal line in Okwawriwa area, ONELGA, sent\u00a0 flames into the air.<\/span><\/p>\n

The facility that conveys petroleum products from Seplat, Agip, and Shell, serving ONELGA and parts of Imo State, to Brass in Bayelsa State.<\/span><\/p>\n

The police are working to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incidents.<\/span><\/p>\n

Everyday.ng reports that many were suspicious when<\/span> an explosion has hit a section of the Trans Niger Pipeline in Bodo Community in Gonna local government area of Rivers state.<\/span><\/p>\n

The pipeline is a federal transport line that supplies oil to the Bonny Export Terminal in Rivers State.<\/span><\/p>\n

Unconfirmed reports said the incident occurred late on Monday night near the Bodo-Bonny Road under construction, amid fears that the ongoing political imbroglio between forces loyal to immediate past Governor and sitting Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike; and Governor Siminalayi Fubara may have moved to the next phase.<\/span><\/p>\n

No official statement has been issued whether it is a case of sabotage or due to technical problems.<\/span><\/p>\n

Recall that there have been threats on oil installations in the state as a result of the political crisis in the state, culminating in 27 members of the State House of Assembly accusing the governor of gross misconduct.<\/span>
