{"id":91881,"date":"2024-10-05T07:21:17","date_gmt":"2024-10-05T07:21:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=91881"},"modified":"2024-10-05T07:21:17","modified_gmt":"2024-10-05T07:21:17","slug":"unknown-gunmen-strike-again-abduct-anambra-community-leader-apga-chieftain","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=91881","title":{"rendered":"Unknown gunmen strike again, abduct Anambra community leader, APGA chieftain"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From <strong>Chuks Moses<\/strong>, Awka<\/p>\n<p>Unknown gunmen on Friday struck at Umunze, a major Anambra Community bordering Imo and Abia states, kidnapping the President-General of the Umunze Progressive Union in Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State, Ezekiel Iheazor, and a chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Nze Ike Okoli.<\/p>\n<p>The unfortunate incident, according to an eyewitness, account took place at Nze Okoli\u2019s residence in Lomu village while it was raining heavily.<\/p>\n<p>The hoodlums, aided by the heavy downpour,\u00a0 succeeded in gaining access into the premises of Okoli and abducted both men. They reportedly escaped in the Toyota Highlander SUV they had come with.<\/p>\n<p>No word has come from the abductors so far. But family disclosed that the hoodlums abandoned the vehicles of their victims at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>A middle aged man simply addressed as &#8220;Chief&#8221;, said, \u201cIt is true. Our PG and one other person were kidnapped.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Today is Nkwo, our main market day, and it has been raining heavily.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe heard loud gunshots but no one came out due to the rain. After the rain subsided, we reached out to friends near the market, and they confirmed nothing had happened there. Soon after, a community leader broke the sad news to some of us.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt the scene of the crime, Iheazor\u2019s car was found abandoned at Okoli\u2019s home, heightening the tension as residents grappled with the shocking development.
