{"id":91676,"date":"2024-09-20T08:42:24","date_gmt":"2024-09-20T08:42:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=91676"},"modified":"2024-09-20T09:29:42","modified_gmt":"2024-09-20T09:29:42","slug":"as-youths-heckle-pelt-emir-lamido-in-kano-ganduje-denies-involvement-in-fresh-plot-to-dethrone-him","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=91676","title":{"rendered":"As youths heckle, pelt Emir Lamido in Kano, Ganduje denies involvement in fresh plot to dethrone him"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: 17px;\">It was indeed another embarrassing day for Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II as some angry youths in Kano heckled and pelted him with objects on his way to attend a Qur\u2019anic graduation ceremony at Nurul Huda Islamiyya Zage on Tuesday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 17px;\">In a viral video online, the youths were heard saying in Hausa \u201ckara mas\u201d, which loosely translated means &#8220;add it again.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 17px;\">Security operatives and palace guards had to make efforts to protect the Emir from the stones.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 17px;\">According to a report by Politics Digest, an online newspaper, w<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 17px;\">hen the Emir arrived at the venue, the youth kept chanting Bamayi (We don&#8217;t want), a situation that allegedly prompted the Emir to leave the venue without delivering a speech.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 17px;\">&#8220;It was learnt that this is the first time an Emir would attend a Qur\u2019anic graduation without delivering a speech in the history of Kano Emirate.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 17px;\">&#8220;This paper contacted the Chief of Staff to the Emir over the matter, he neither picked the call and nor respond to text messages sent to him,&#8221; the newspaper added.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 17px;\">In an unrelated development, amid speculations of a fresh plot to remove the Emir,<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 17px;\"> t<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 17px;\">he All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has denied his involvement.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_91679\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-91679\" style=\"width: 275px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-91679\" src=\"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/images-13.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"275\" height=\"183\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-91679\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">APC National Chairman, Umar Ganduje and Emir Sanusi.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 17px;\">His Senior Special Assistant on Public Enlightenment, Chief Oliver Okpala, dispelled allegations and insinuations in some quarters that his boss is in a fresh plot to dethrone Sanusi.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 17px;\">There is a report circulating in the social media captioned &#8220;Ganduje\u00a0 leads\u00a0 fresh plot to dethrone Emir Mohammad Sanusi.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 17px;\">The report\u00a0 quoted &#8220;sources within the Kofar Kudu Palace, powerful individuals in Kano, allegedly led by All Progressive Congress (APC) National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, are orchestrating the removal of the former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor as the 16th Emir of Kano and Chairman of the Kano Council of Chiefs&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 17px;\">But reacting to the controversial publication , Chief Oliver Okpala maintained that nothing could be true about the claims, insisting that Dr. Ganduje has nothing to do with the allegation of a fresh plot to dethrone , Emir Mohammad Sanusi.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 17px;\">Chief Okpala said Dr. Ganduje was no longer the Governor of Kano state , neither is he the Speaker of the state House of Assembly and could not be linked with any fresh plot or plan to dethrone or enthone anyone as Emir of Kano.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 17px;\">&#8220;It should be made categorically clear that Dr. Ganduje has nothing to do with the present enthronement or dethronement of Emir Mohammad Sanusi in Kano state&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 17px;\">&#8220;It should be noted that Dr. Ganduje is no longer the Executive Governor of Kano state or the speaker of the Kano state house of assembly and therefore cannot have anything to do further with the Emirship of Kano&#8221; <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 17px;\">According to Chief Okpala , Dr. Ganduje is not also involved in any plan to advise\u00a0 Emir Ado Bayero to abdicate the throne as alleged .<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 17px;\">&#8220;It is laughable that Dr. Ganduje who has left office as Governor for some years now would be accused of masterminding a fresh plot to remove or enthrone an Emir.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 17px;\">&#8220;According to the publication Ganduje is not only alleged to be plotting to remove Emir Sanusi, they said he is also plotting to advise Alhaji Ado Bayero to abdicate his throne as Emir of Kano for peace to reign . This is to say the least preposterous and absurd&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 17px;\">&#8220;It must be made clear that Dr. Ganduje has led and Governed\u00a0 Kano state creditably and since moved on, focusing on other more important national issues, as he leads Nigeria&#8217;s governing party , the APC .<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 17px;\">&#8220;Dr. Ganduje has no further hand in the\u00a0 Kano Emirship issue as he is very busy with leading the APC &#8220;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 17px;\">&#8220;He is satisfied with the enomous contributions he made in terms of massive dividends of democracy, infrastructural developments and the good governance he provided while he held sway as Governor of Kano state&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 17px;\">&#8220;Those who are behind this sinister move to malign the APC National Chairman\u00a0 know what their sponsors are planning and they should leave the very busy, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje out of it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 17px;\">&#8220;By going further to allege that he wants to use his influence in the Presidency to achieve the so called enthronement and dethronement, it\u00a0 reveals the clandestine and dangerous motive of the sponsors of this act to create bad blood between Dr. Ganduje and Aso Rock.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 17px;\">&#8220;Let me reiterate here that Dr. Ganduje has very great respect for the Presidency and the national leader of the party,\u00a0 President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 17px;\">&#8220;The relationship between both parties have been very cordial and no amount of blackmail can destroy the solidity of the partnership . <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 17px;\">&#8220;The sponsors of this unsavory publication should know that the people of Kano state love and cherish Dr. Ganduje for his<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 17px;\">untrammeled services to the people of Kano when he served as Governor.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 17px;\">&#8220;Dr Ganduje as the National Chairman of the APC through his leadership activities has now positioned\u00a0 the party as one to reckon with .
