Another Nigerian,\u00a0Paul Kehinde, got a silver medal.<br \/>\nAccording to Wikipedia, 36 years old Oyema competed in the\u00a0women&#8217;s 61 kg\u00a0event at the\u00a02014 Commonwealth Games\u00a0where she won a gold medal and set a new world recorld by lifting 122.4\u00a0kg in the heavyweight category. In 2015 she won a gold medal at the\u00a0All-Africa Games\u00a0by lifting 133\u00a0kg and beating her previous record 126\u00a0kg.<br \/>\nIn the same year she traveled all the way to\u00a0Almaty,\u00a0Kazakhstan\u00a0where she won another gold medal at the IPC Powerlifting Asian Open Championships by lifting 79\u00a0kg.\u00a0During the\u00a02016 Summer Paralympics\u00a0she won a silver medal by beating her Mexican counterpart\u00a0Amalia Perez\u00a0in the\u00a0women&#8217;s 55 kg\u00a0lifting.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Nigerian para powerlifter in the lightweight category Esther Oyema, has done the country proud at the on-going Commonwealth Games winning a gold medal and making a mess of the world record.
