{"id":8319,"date":"2018-03-22T16:42:42","date_gmt":"2018-03-22T16:42:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=8319"},"modified":"2018-03-22T16:42:42","modified_gmt":"2018-03-22T16:42:42","slug":"dapchi-girls-buhari-has-failed-cant-take-credit-for-his-own-failure-fayose","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=8319","title":{"rendered":"Dapchi Girls: Buhari has failed, can\u2019t take credit for his own failure &#8211; Fayose"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\">From <strong>Jimoh Joseph<\/strong>, Ado-Ekiti<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has described the Dapchi Girls abduction saga as another clear evidence of failure of President Muhammadu Buhari, declaring that \u201cthe President cannot take credit for<br \/>\nhis own failure.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The governor said there was no basis for the All Progressives Congress (APC) to applaud the President\u2019s \u00a0claim of bringing back home those innocent Dapchi Girls that ought not to have been abducted in the first place if not for the government\u2019s laxity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Special Assistant to the Governor on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, said the governor addressed the press in his office on Thursday, saying; \u201cthe abduction and return of the girls took place without resistance is a sign that the APC led federal government has lost the war against insurgency, the basis for which it came to power. It is also a clear indication that Nigerians can no longer depend on the clueless government for their safety.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Governor Fayose said; \u201cIt is obvious that the All Progressives Congress (APC) federal government has failed to protect Nigerians, if its electoral promises is anything to go by and one wonders the basis for the party to applaud President Muhammadu Buhari\u2019s claim of bringing back home those innocent Dapchi Girls that ought not to have been abducted in the first place if not for the government\u2019s laxity.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cMost importantly, that the abduction and return of the girls took place without resistance is a sign that the APC-led federal government has lost the war against insurgency, the basis for which it came to power. It is also a clear indication that Nigerians can no longer depend on the clueless government for their safety.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cThe way and manner the Dapchi girls were abducted and returned is a clear demonstration that the federal government is fooling itself and not Nigerians as the whole process is shrouded in secrecy, raising more questions than answers.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cThe removal of military checkpoints in Dapchi ahead of the abduction, as confirmed by Governor of Yobe State, Ibrahim Geidam, clearly shows the complicity of the federal government and some individuals profiting from the whole saga.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cDespite security alerts by the locals, the military looked the other way, which necessitated the damning report by the Amnesty International.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cTo the amazement of Nigerians, 24 hours after, the abductors brought back the girls.
