{"id":7744,"date":"2018-02-23T09:56:30","date_gmt":"2018-02-23T09:56:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=7744"},"modified":"2018-02-23T09:56:30","modified_gmt":"2018-02-23T09:56:30","slug":"apc-begins-investigation-of-kaduna-crisis-adamawa-assembly-backs-oyegun","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=7744","title":{"rendered":"APC begins investigation of Kaduna crisis; Adamawa Assembly backs Oyegun"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After seven hours of an executive session which held yesterday, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has opted to send a fact-finding team to Kaduna State where factional crisis is tearing the party apart.<br \/>\nThis is coming as the two main groups &#8211; the offical that has the backing of the State&#8217;s Party Leader, Governor Nasir el Rufai, and a faction that has the backing of Senators Shehu Sani and Suleiman Hunkunyi &#8211; continue to stiffen their positions.<br \/>\nAPC spokesman, Mallam Bolaji Abdulahi, Thursday, listed the decisions of the National Working Committee to include:<br \/>\n&#8220;\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0That the unfolding situation in Kaduna State is deeply regrettable and request all parties in the disagreement to maintain utmost decorum and give opportunity for true reconciliation. Consequently, the NWC has set up a three-man committee led by the Deputy National Chairman (South), Engr. Segun Oni to embark on a fact-finding mission to Kaduna State with a view to identifying the remote and immediate causes of the disagreement and the circumstance that led to the demolition of the house of Senator Hunkuyi.\u00a0 The committee is to report back to the NWC within a week. Other members of the Committee are the National Auditor, Chief George Moghalu and National Woman Leader, Hajia Rahmatu Alliyu.<br \/>\n&#8220;\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0In respect of Kogi State, the NWC reaffirms that that Alhaji Haddy Ametuo remains the Chairman of the APC in the state until the appropriate organ of the party decides otherwise in accordance with the party\u2019s constitution.&#8221;<br \/>\nIn Kaduna, the state government continues to insist that it did no wrong in pulling down the building, said to belong to Senator Hunkunyi, which was being used for he APC faction&#8217;s secretariat.<br \/>\nIt maintained that the owner ran foul of the law by owing ground rents for eight years adding that the building constituted a nuisance in Sambo Close neighbourhood of Kaduna town.<br \/>\nThe Governor&#8217;s aides insist that the unfolding political drama which led to the formation of a faction arose because some aggrieved politicians were seeking relevance following the announcement of the BolaTinubu-led Reconciliation Committee.<br \/>\nMeanwhile, the entire members of the Adamawa State House of Assembly on Thursday passed a vote of confidence on the All Progressives Congress (APC) national executive led by the party\u2019s National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun.<br \/>\nLed by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Kabiru Mijinyawa on a visit to the Party\u2019s National Working Committee (NWC) at the National Secretariat in Abuja, the Adamawa lawmakers particularly hailed the leadership style of the APC National Chairman.<br \/>\nMembers of the APC NWC present at the meeting included the National Vice Chairman (North East), Comrade Mustapha Salihu; National Treasurer, Alh. Bala Mohammed Gwagwarwa and National Youth Leader, Hon. Ibrahim Dasuki Jalo.<br \/>\nSpeaker, Rt. Hon. Kabiru Mijinyawa said: \u201cWe bring warm greetings from the popular government and people of Adamawa state. It is a great pleasure for us members of the Adamawa State House of Assembly to be in your midst to deliver our solidarity message. There is a tendency to have divisions and criticisms amongst ourselves at this crucial time. But most of the criticisms are not constructive and they hold no weight. That is why today we are here to register and show our appreciation and support to our state executive, the governor of Adamawa state and the national executive of our great party led by our national chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun.<br \/>\nMijinyawa praised the Adamawa State Governor, Mohammad Jibrilla Bindow for the numerous developmental projects embarked on in the state and the cordial working relationship between the state\u2019s executive and legislature which has resulted in good governance and development in the state.<br \/>\nAlso speaking, the House Leader, Hon. Hassan Barguma while commending the leadership style of the APC National Chairman said despite the challenges faced in the country and the party, the APC continues to grow in strength. He informed the APC National Chairman that members are to make the membership of the APC entirely APC.<br \/>\n\u201cNational chairman, we commend your style of leadership. When the president was inaugurated he said we are going to face some challenges and the party is not excluded. In the past two and half years, we have seen how you have handled the party right from the national, state to ward levels.
