{"id":69224,"date":"2024-03-04T21:54:26","date_gmt":"2024-03-04T21:54:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=69224"},"modified":"2024-03-04T21:54:26","modified_gmt":"2024-03-04T21:54:26","slug":"15-arrested-over-looting-spree-of-fcta-store-in-abuja","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=69224","title":{"rendered":"15 arrested over looting spree of FCTA store in Abuja"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\">The Police Command in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, said it has arrested 15 suspects in connection with the vandalism of a warehouse belonging to the Federal Capital Development Authority, FCTA, in Abuja, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\">The Police Public Relations Officer in the FCT, Josephine Adeh, said this in a statement on Sunday in Abuja.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\">She said two security guards employed by the warehouse management were among the suspects arrested for vandalising the warehouse in Tasha area of Abuja.<\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 368px;\" class=\"wp-video\"><video class=\"wp-video-shortcode\" id=\"video-69224-1\" width=\"368\" height=\"640\" preload=\"metadata\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"video\/mp4\" src=\"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/VID-20240303-WA0028.mp4?_=1\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/VID-20240303-WA0028.mp4\">https:\/\/everyday.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/VID-20240303-WA0028.mp4<\/a><\/video><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\">Ms Adeh, a superintendent, said 26 bags of maize, five Motorcycles and some vandalised aluminum roofing sheets were recovered from the suspects.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\">\u201cThe Police Command in the FCT is fully informed about the impulsive attack on Agric Department Strategic food store located at Tasha area of Abuja, on March 3.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\">\u201cThe attack has resulted in the vandalism and looting of the warehouse.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\">\u201cThe command wishes to state that normalcy has since, been restored to the area and the situation, under control,\u201d she said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\">The Agricultural and Rural Development Secretariat of the FCTA had earlier, confirmed the looting of its warehouse on Sunday, by some hoodlums.<\/span><br \/>\n<!--\/data\/user\/0\/com.samsung.android.app.notes\/files\/clipdata\/clipdata_bodytext_240304_124307_208.sdocx--><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Police Command in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, said it has arrested 15 suspects in connection with the vandalism of a warehouse belonging to the Federal Capital Development Authority, FCTA, in Abuja, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.
