Apparently following public outcry over the appointment of Engr. Imam Kashim Imam as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA), President Bola Tinubu has withdrawn the nomination.<\/span><\/p>\n

In his mid-20s, many have questioned what experience Imam is bringing to bear, having just served under the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) last year.<\/span><\/p>\n

He is said to be the son of Mutawalli Kashim Ibrahim-Imam the current\u00a0 Chairman of TETFUND .<\/span><\/p>\n

The Presidency’s statement withdrawing the nomination of Imam says it is with immediate effect, but other appointments to the Board and Executive Management team of FERMA are unaffected by the directive.<\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the President has approved the appointment of eight (8) new Chief Executive Officers for Parastatals and Agencies under the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation. They are as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n

(1) National Orientation Agency (NOA) \u2014 Director-General \/ CEO \u2014 Mr. Lanre Issa-Onilu<\/span><\/p>\n

(2) Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) \u2014 Director-General \/ CEO \u2014 Mr. Salihu Abdulhamid Dembos<\/span><\/p>\n

(3) Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) \u2014 Director-General \/ CEO \u2014 Dr. Muhammed Bulama<\/span><\/p>\n

(4) National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) \u2014 Director-General \/ CEO \u2014 Mr. Charles Ebuebu<\/span><\/p>\n

(5) Voice of Nigeria (VON) \u2014 Director-General \/ CEO \u2014 Mr. Jibrin Baba Ndace<\/span><\/p>\n

(6) Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) \u2014 Director-General \/ CEO \u2014 Dr. Lekan Fadolapo<\/span><\/p>\n

(7) News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) \u2014 Managing Director \/ CEO \u2014 Mr. Ali Muhammed Ali<\/span><\/p>\n

(8) Nigerian Press Council (NPC) \u2014 Executive Secretary \/ CEO \u2014 Mr. Dili Ezughah<\/span><\/p>\n

“The President tasks the newly entrusted leadership in these important sub-sectors to innovate and create new opportunities for Nigerians to leverage upon through the effective reform of these key institutions of government which function to unify our people, reshape mindsets, and showcase this great nation to the rest of the world.<\/span><\/p>\n
