MOSHOOD<\/strong>, FORCE PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER, FORCE HEADQUARTERS, ABUJA<br \/>\nPRESS RELEASE<br \/>\nRE &#8211; CHRISTMAS:\u00a0POLICE BEEF UP SECURITY NATIONWIDE<br \/>\n\u25cfIGP orders immediate commencement of Stop &#038; Search Operations across the country to prevent crimes and criminality during the Christmas and New Year Festivity<br \/>\n\u25cfSolicits Cooperation from all Nigerians most especially Travelers and other Road Users<br \/>\nThe Inspector General of Police, IGP Ibrahim K. Idris&#8230;in addition to his earlier directives on the implementation of an elaborate security arrangement to beef-up security throughout the nation to ensure a hitch-free Christmas and New Year celebration nationwide, has further directed immediate commencement of Stop and Search operations to prevent crimes and criminality throughout the yuletide and new year festivals by all State Police Commands across the country at flash points, black spots and vulnerable points on major roads and highways across the country.<br \/>\n2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 In order to ensure free flow of traffic and ease movement of travellers, the stop and search point will not be located at areas susceptible to traffic gridlock or vehicular hold-ups.
