{"id":6630,"date":"2017-12-22T16:59:46","date_gmt":"2017-12-22T16:59:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=6630"},"modified":"2017-12-22T16:59:46","modified_gmt":"2017-12-22T16:59:46","slug":"fayose-condemns-fg-over-persistent-fuel-scarcity-calls-for-buharis-resignation-as-oil-minister","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=6630","title":{"rendered":"Fayose condemns FG over persistent fuel scarcity, calls for Buhari\u2019s resignation as Oil Minister"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From <strong>Jimoh Joseph<\/strong>, Ado Ekiti<br \/>\nEkiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose, has again condemned the<br \/>\nfederal government over its nonchalant attitude towards ending the<br \/>\nfuel scarcity being experienced across the country, calling for the<br \/>\nimmediate resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari as the Minister of<br \/>\npetroleum.<br \/>\nThe governor, who reiterated his position that the All Progressives<br \/>\nCongress (APC) federal government was punishing Nigerians with fuel<br \/>\nscarcity so as to achieve its planned increment of petrol pump price<br \/>\nfrom N145 to not less than N185 per litre, added that; \u201cAlready, fuel<br \/>\nis being sold officially at between N180 and N200 at petrol stations<br \/>\nacross the country.\u201d<br \/>\nIn a release issued on Friday, Governor Fayose\u2019s Special Assistant on<br \/>\nPublic Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, quoted him as<br \/>\nsaying that \u201cIt is sad that this Buhari\u2019s APC government had to choose<br \/>\nthis Christmas and New Year period to ground Nigeria with the fuel<br \/>\nscarcity that it deliberately orchestrated.\u201d<br \/>\nThe governor called for the immediate resignation of President Buhari<br \/>\nas the Minister of Petroleum, noting that \u201cit is obvious that the<br \/>\npresident has failed in all ramifications and he needs to do Nigerians a favour by relinquishing the portfolio of minister of petroleum.\u201d<br \/>\nGovernor Fayose said; \u201cLike I said a few days ago, what the federal<br \/>\ngovernment is doing is to create scarcity so that Nigerians will be<br \/>\nwilling to buy at any price, provided the product is made available.<br \/>\n\u201cIt was to achieve this planned increment of petrol pump price that<br \/>\nthey restricted supply of petrol to NNPC alone.\u201d<br \/>\nThe governor, who sympathized with Nigerians for the hardship they are<br \/>\nbeing made to go through by the APC government, said; \u201cI warned<br \/>\nNigerians before President Buhari was elected and I am telling<br \/>\nNigerians now that the only option to rescue our country from being<br \/>\nbrought down completely is to vote out Buhari and his APC in 2019.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From Jimoh Joseph, Ado Ekiti Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose, has again condemned the federal government over its nonchalant attitude towards ending the fuel scarcity being experienced across the country, calling for the immediate resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari as the Minister of petroleum.
