The Federal Government has renamed some federal airports after 15 living and late prominent Nigerians.<\/p>\n
A memo by the Federal Ministry of Aviation dated June 1, 2023, and signed by Mrs Joke Olatunji for the Director of Airport Operations announced the development which it attributed to President Bola Tinubu.<\/p>\n
The airports and the personalities they are named after are:<\/p>\n
1. Akure Airport \u2013 Olumuyiwa Bernard Aliu<\/p>\n
2. Benin Airport \u2013 Oba Akenzua II<\/p>\n
3. Dutse Airport \u2013 Muhammad Nuhu Sanusi<\/p>\n
4. Ebonyi Airport \u2013 Chuba Wilberforce Okadigbo<\/p>\n
5. Gombe Airport \u2013 Brigadier Zakari Maimalari<\/p>\n
6. Ibadan Airport \u2013 Samuel Ladoke Akintola<\/p>\n
7. Ilorin Airport \u2013 Gen. Tunde Idiagbon<\/p>\n
8. Kaduna Airport \u2013 Hassan Usman Katsina<\/p>\n
9. Maiduguri Airport \u2013 Gen. Mumammadu Buhari<\/p>\n
